Sheepskin Care Set - For a Soft and Well-Maintained Sheepskin
With the Woolskins Sheepskin Care Set, you can keep your washable sheepskin in optimal condition. This care set contains an eco-friendly wool detergent with lanolin, specially developed for cleaning and caring for medical and washable sheepskins.
The detergent cleans gently without affecting the natural properties of the wool. Thanks to the added lanolin, the sheepskin remains soft, supple, and comfortable, even after multiple washes.
Specially Developed for Washable Sheepskins
Not every sheepskin is suitable for washing. This care set is intended exclusively for washable sheepskins, such as the Medical Grade sheepskins from Woolskins.
The olive oil soap-based formula cleans thoroughly but gently and helps preserve the natural wool oils as much as possible.

Why Lanolin Is Important
Lanolin is the natural wool grease that occurs naturally in sheep's wool. It helps keep the wool fibers supple and contributes to wool's self-cleaning properties.
With regular use of a wool detergent with lanolin, the sheepskin remains:
-
Softer to the touch
-
Less likely to dry out
-
More supple to use
-
Beautiful for longer
This helps keep your sheepskin comfortable and durable.
Enough for Approximately 5 Washes
The care set contains a 250 ml bottle of wool detergent.
Contents
-
250 ml eco-friendly wool detergent with lanolin
When using approximately 50 ml per wash, the bottle is sufficient for about five full washes of a sheepskin.
Considerably less detergent is often needed for wool clothing, allowing the contents to last even longer.
Daily Care of a Sheepskin
To keep your sheepskin looking its best, washing is usually not immediately necessary.
We recommend regularly:
-
Beating out the sheepskin
-
Brushing it briefly
-
Allowing it to air outdoors
For small stains, wiping with a damp cloth is often sufficient.
Because wool is naturally dirt-repellent and self-cleaning, a sheepskin generally stays fresh for a long time without washing.
Washing Instructions for Washable Sheepskins
When washing is necessary, follow the steps below:
-
Place the sheepskin in the washing machine.
-
Add 50 ml of wool detergent to the detergent compartment.
-
Select a wool or delicate cycle at a maximum of 30°C.
-
Use a short and gentle wash cycle.
-
Roll the wet sheepskin in a towel to remove excess moisture.
-
Allow the sheepskin to dry flat or tumble-dry it at a low temperature.
-
After drying, gently stretch the sheepskin back into shape.
After washing, the leather side may temporarily feel slightly firmer. It will naturally become more supple again with use.

-

Use only a wool or delicate cycle.

100% Wool Pile
Our wool consists of a pile of 100% wool fibers. The natural wool gives it a soft, warm, authentic look.
We work with soft, warm wool in three different types. Felted, also known as fulled wool, is a soft, compact, natural wool fabric that feels wonderfully warm. Thumbled has a full, woolly, cuddly-soft texture. Our Teddy wool is also soft and woolly, but has more flexibility and stretch, making the fabric feel extra flexible and comfortable.
Made in Europe
At Woolskins, we believe in the power of pure, natural materials. That’s why we work exclusively with high-quality European wool, and all our products are made entirely in Europe.
Our sheepskins also come from European sheep and are tanned within the European Union. This is done in accordance with current European laws and environmental regulations, which set strict requirements for quality, safety, and sustainability.
This is how we combine craftsmanship, short supply chains, and responsible production.
OEKO-TEX® & ECO-5
OEKO-TEX® Our products meet the strictly controlled OEKO-TEX® quality standards. This guarantees that the textiles and materials used have been thoroughly tested for harmful substances, chemicals, and allergens, ensuring safe, skin-friendly products for the whole family.
ECO 5 Our products meet the ECO 5 quality standard, which ensures that the materials are produced through an environmentally friendly and responsible supply chain. This certification strictly assesses environmental management, sustainable sourcing of raw materials, energy conservation, and fair, safe working conditions throughout the entire manufacturing process.
Mulesing-free wool from Europe
The origin of wool makes a difference. That’s why at Woolskins, we consciously choose wool and sheepskins of European origin. So when choosing a wool product, always take a moment to check where it comes from.
European wool is free from mulesing, because the parasite that this procedure is used to address in other parts of the world is not found here.
ECO 5 Our products meet the ECO 5 quality standard, which ensures that the materials are produced through an environmentally friendly and responsible supply chain. This certification rigorously assesses environmental management, sustainable sourcing of raw materials, energy conservation, and fair, safe working conditions throughout the manufacturing process.
